Hi Ladies,

It has been a week of reflection for many of us.

Ten years since September 11, 2001.

Our world has changed in many ways in the past ten years.

The one thought that gave me a lot of strength after September 11 is a teaching of our Masters of Kabbalah that I will now share.

Everything in the physical world is a reflection of the powers of spirituality. On September 11, 2001, the entire world was a witness to the power of one evil man. We were witness to the power of one person to encourage and instigate such wrongdoing.

If one person can chose, with freedom of choice – to change the world in such a way, Imagine the power of one individual who chooses to change the world for the good. Imagine the powers of all of us in unity shining powerful goodness with peace and synergy.

Imagine how we can change the course of the universe in the next ten years.

One thing we can know about the year 2021 is that the world will be exponentially different.

I was watching a You-tube video about the year 2020. You walk into your home, and the lights turn on automatically for you as you enter the room. As you sit on the table, a Robot greets you by putting a warm dinner on the table.
Sitting there, I was thinking about how the world is going to change so rapidly in the next few years. I was thinking about how we as people, we as human beings need to really know where we are heading, and what differentiates us from robots. How we can actually lead soulful and spiritual change in the world.

How although we don’t know WHAT the world will be like in the year 2020, we can connect within and envision WHO we will be in the year 2020. We can envision the beauty of the spirituality and kindness and patience and compassion that we would like to embody in the year 2020. We can envision the commitment and the giving and the caring that we would like to share in our relationships in the year 2020. We can envision how we will move forward along the soul path that Hashem provides for us in the year 2020. We can envision the light that we will be sharing with the world today, and in the year 2020.

Therefore, today, in September of 2011, I invite you to join me for a visionary, rejuvenating and energizing experience this winter, January 16-20, 2012. The theme of our “Ultimate SpiritVention” this winter will be:

“Beyond Robots, Internet- Operated Ovens, and Artificial Intelligence: Envisioning the Light of The Jewish Woman of 2020”

Stay tuned for the details!

Have a wonderful week,

A Small Miracle in My Life

Hi Ladies!

This past week was my sister’s birthday. When she called me to arrange us getting together, I realized with much gratitude to Hashem that her birthday marks one year to a very momentous occasion in my personal life.

Last year, on her birthday, we studied together, as is customary in Kaballistic tradition for one’s birthday: to set aside time to reflect, to study, to gather and to bless each other.

What we studied that day inspired a string of miracles in my life.

We were learning a Chassidic insight into the Hebrew Month called Elul, which begins this upcoming Tuesday. The month of Elul is the last Hebrew month of the year, and is a month of reflection and return to our Divine Creator. Hashem gives us a period of one month to completely transform our reality of the previous year. In the month of Elul, “The King is in the Field.”

When the King is in the palace, one must pass through all the gates and guards, and much “red tape” to get in to the Inner Chambers to greet the King. In this time of year, in the month of Elul, Hashem is “in the fields” ready and available to each and every one of us, in our mundane everyday lives.

Hashem only asks us to “turn and greet the King.” In Chassidic tradition, the “turning” represents stepping out of our regular habits in order to live a more connected life. It means to return with all of our love to Hashem, and in this returning, with true love, our very actions of the past are transformed from misdeeds to merits- and to stepping stools along our path in order to bring us to an even higher level of connection and longing.

And then, in that “greeting the King,” we may ask for whatever we truly desire, and Hashem is available with an open and abundant Hand.

So, a few mornings later, I was sitting in my car, running late to drop off my daughter to school, and even later for a meeting, and I began to talk to G-d.
I said- “Hashem, look at me, I’m running late to school, later to a meeting, my car is not the cleanest, and I have all these visions for what can truly happen for women out there. Two years ago, I committed to doing something truly inspiring and healing for women with all the Chassidic wisdom I have been so blessed to learn- I looked for a place, haven’t found one yet, and look at me- I am barely organized myself. In the merit of the soul of Rivky Holtzberg (a very special woman who I committed to naming the project after,) help me with this. I am handing this over to You- now You please show me the way.”

That was the very month that we found the beautiful space on Montana Avenue for The Women’s Spirit Center- Rivkah’s Tent. And the rest is History!

So I challenge you all to join me on a journey of 30 days, starting this Tuesday, of “Turning aside to Greeting the King.”

Let’s together take a Step out, and step in. Step out of your comfort zone, and into Hashem’s Presence. Love Shira

When you were at your lowest point

Hi Ladies!

Today is a very powerful day.

Today is the 15th of the Month of Av.

On the 15th of each Hebrew Month, the moon is at it's biggest point. It represents the completion of the month.

This month's completion is far more powerful than any other month's completion: for this month's fall was greater than any other fall. Since the month of Av was filled with such tragedies for our People, on the 15th of this month, the power is that much greater. The Masters of Kabbalah teach: The lower we fall, the higher we will rise.

Think of a time in your life that you were at your lowest:

Thinking back, how have you grown from that experience?

Have a wonderful week, and please scroll down for our wonderful schedule of classes this week,
